And then came Wednesday!!!

God is good all the time. What an amazing day here in Guatemala. People all I can say is that if our last workday, Thursday, is anything like Wednesday was then we might not be able to take it. Our building teams completed all of the houses and Thursday morning is the dedication time. Our goal is to not only present them with the keys to their own home, but give them the keys to eternity as well if they will be willing to accept Him. Please pray for us as we share Christ with some very special people. On the medical side...the Dr's and crew moved to the base of one of the volcano's and the people came a running. We saw 276 patients with 30 precious souls coming to know Christ as their Lord and Savior. What a mighty God we serve!!!!! Please pray for us that we finish well today...that we continue to see God move, and that we hold out physically. We love you all and miss you very much. Love Bro. Jim

Tuesday Sorry its late

Tuesday was another amazing day here in Guatemala. The Medical Team was able to see 190 patients and we had 7 more salvations! This was in a very evangelized area with a couple of churches just up the road from the medical site. The amazing part is that the most common prayer request wasn't for health or for needs but it was for the Guatemalan people to praise God for the doctors and the nurses and the medical team for coming. This was truly a very humbling experience for our people. By the same right our building teams are nearly complete on the 10 houses and we expect to have all 10 dedicated in the morning. I guess they think they will get the afternoon off. Huh! All kidding aside...our teams have worked tirelessly and we are the blessed ones even though we are trying to be blessings to these people. What an amazing God we serve. Please continue to pray for us because we want to finish well and be in the center of what God wants us to do.
Milly's father is doing good but the next few days are going to be critical. She called and told us that she felt the prayers of all of us an all of you so continue to lift their family up. Keep checking the slide show...its a slow go but I'm adding pictures as I can. Hope you enjoy...looking forward to Friday....yet still glad were here. Love Bro. Jim

Monday, The Doctors are in!!!

After a great day of fun in Antiqua on Sunday....we hit the ground running on Monday morning with our medical team seeing 163 patients in one afternoon. The three doctors and one pharmacist along with many helpers and interpreters were very tired when they arrived back at the mission house. They brought with them great news 8 precious souls were saved today through their evangelism efforts. PRAISE GOD!!! We just cannot wait to see what tomorrow holds. On the flip side, our building teams are plugging right along with 6 houses 75% complete already. We have been blessed with great weather and a great team of people who are working hard and being very intentional in their relationships with the families who are receiving the houses. We ended the day with an inspiring word from Jamie Watkins about being a man/woman of integrity. Please continue to pray for us as we work to see God's will done while we are here. Also, we got word that Milly's father came through the surgery well and they are praying that they can receive aid from the states in the form of Medicaid....please continue to pray for them during this trying time. Sorry this is so late tonight...the internet hasn't worked well today so I had to write this when I could. We love you all and will see you soon. Bro Jim

Day Two and Day Three

Wow what a difference a couple of days make! We have had gorgeous weather today...a little drizzle yesterday but after having supplies unexpectedly available, we have nearly completed 2 houses with the exception of the door and windows. Our teams are having a great time....some of them have been here several times, yet they have never been a part of the building team. So that is something that has really got us going. Our friends from Ohio have arrived safely and we are preparing supper as we speak and getting ready for a great week here in Guatemala. I am asking all of you to pray for me tonight as God has given me the great privilege to be able to preach at Daniel's and Milly's church here tomorrow. I am very excited ....and nervous because I am having to cut my sermon in half to account for the interpreter. Also please pray for Milly as she will be traveling to Arkansas Monday. Her father had a heart attack last week while visiting the States. Please pray for the surgery to go well and for her safe travel. We will keep you informed....and we will keep adding pictures to the slide show so you can see what we are doing. We love you and keep praying for us. Love Bro. Jim.

E-A-S-T-M-O-N-T-G-O-M-E-RR-Y, East Montgomery All-Stars, hoo-hoo-hoo, YOU KNOW (who)!

Thanks for calling me and letting me hear the cheer. You have no idea how many chills I got from hearing that. Thank you for the card that you gave me too! I love it and brought it to Guatemala with me.

I'm so proud of you girls! 21-0, WOW! You sure did make your coaches look good tonight.

I'm going to be praying for all of you. Please pray for me and the mission team too. I'm cheering for you from Guatemala. Tomorrow, every person in the village will know how good you played. I'm going to continue to wear my practice shirt, my red wrist band & eat my sunflower seeds during every game that I'm gone.

Keep up the good sportsmanship and remember to have GREAT attitudes when you are on the field. Also, be sure to give your parents a big, big hug, and thank them for being such awesome parents.

Again, I'm very proud of you and can't wait to see you next Friday night!

Love you all!
Coach Jamie
(p.s. Ray-Ray, I love you & I am very proud of you! Daddy)

GRACE Mission Trip Day One

Hope all of you are great back in the good ole' USA. Day one was a bit long, tricky, and very, very, rainy. There has been flooding down here for the past few days. The streets of Chimaltenango were hard to maneuver as we made our way from our bumpy plane ride to our mountain hideaway. Yet God is good and has allowed us to make it and we have all had a good night sleep. Today is a bit up in the air. The places that we will be building houses we have been told are not anticipating us to arrive until Monday. That could make for a very hectic week as we and our friends from Ohio are going to be building 10 houses it seems in just 4 days. The people who are receiving the homes have to clear their land before we can build. With the rain being as it is....we are just going to have to wait and see if they are ready or not. Please pray for us to get accomplished all that God wants us to and for hearts to be changed and broken. I should be able to update daily assuming the weather is good for at least a period of time. We love you all and hope you enjoy the pictures. Make sure you scroll all the way down to the bottom to see the picture that Jeff Hudson took yesterday...quite beautiful. We love you all, Love Bro. Jim
